The three-wheel Preschool Scooter is a good solution for toddlers who, watching older siblings, have contracted a bad case of scooter envy. ln front, two 4-inch urethane wheels are placed eight inches apart for stability; at the back, there's a 3-inch wheel and a 'spoon' brake just like on those metal 'big kid' scooters. This vehicle is mostly plastic, but sturdy enough for the job, with comfortable foam grips. A cleverly designed 'lean-and-steer' mechanism at the front axle makes it significantly easier to control than some three- or four-wheel toddler scooters. This one resists the tendency to tip over when going around corners. --Richard Farr

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best scooter for early riders without a doubt
Bought this at Xmas 2006 for my then 2.5 year old and he took to it right away. He pretty much rides it daily (at least until he got his first bike this week) and has learned to turn quite well by shifting his body weight from side to side. He's "scooted" along the sidewalk with me in a car on the street and got it going to over 5 mph! Kids can really fly on this scooter but it is amazingly sturdy and stable. The low deck makes it very easy to "bail" and avoid a big fall...

I went online to try and find another, just in case his breaks and to have for our baby when he gets older, and was saddened to see that it is not available. You can't find this scooter anywhere right now... It is by far the best toy purchase we have made for our son in terms of value and enjoyment by him. If you get a chance to buy one (or maybe two to keep one as a spare), you should jump on it!

If you want your 2-3 year old to have some cool protective gear for his "extreme" scootering, I highly recommend the Pro-Tec Ace SXP Brian Patch too. It is a true multi-sport helmet that comes in an xtra-small youth size. If fits kids with head size starting at 20"..

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best pre-school scooter available
I purchased this for my son when he was 2. He's now 4 and still loves his scooter. It's a bit banged up but it's still in working condition after much use over the last 2 years. The great thing about this scooter is how easy it is for the little ones to steer and the fact that it doesn't tip over, ever. It's absolutely worth the price of shipping. Do yourself a favor and buy this one instead of the cheaper one at the mall or discount shop.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yes, more expensive, but yes, totally worth it.
So, I, like many other reviewers, first bought this scooter a couple of years ago when it was just 29 bucks or whatever. When my younger daughter (3) started wanting to borrow her older sister's scooter (4.5, the kid, not the scooter) I came online to buy another. I was pretty peeved that the price had essentially doubled, so I spent time trying to find it cheaper (ebay etc). In the end I gave up and just paid the money, and here's the thing: Not only is it still the very very best scooter out there for preschoolers, but it's been improved in minor ways that kind of explain the price rise. The front wheels are bigger, the standing board is sturdier, the brake connection is sturdier, the hand grips are better and the upright piece is now chrome. And can I just add that the original was totally incredible, so these improvements weren't even really necessary. However, I think that's why it costs more. Bottom line, it's still honestly the best money you'll spend on something like this. My kids ride them all the time and they are stable, speedy and fun. Don't hesitate, just in case the price goes up again!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great for little kids
My daughter could barely walk when we received this scooter (she was 15 months old) and we were amazed when she got on this thing and took off! She has ridden it several times a day (outside and around our house) literally every single day for almost 5 years. I came to buy another one because hers is finally worn out and am disappointed to see they're not available. I asked her if she wants a bigger scooter, a cool shiny one for big kids, but she only wants another one of these. Her kindergarten-aged friends all beg her for turns on it. It can't tip over, it stands up when parked, it is easy and intuitive to steer, it is extremely lightweight, it has a brake on the back wheel that's easy to use. Perfect in every way!

Some movie-loving wizards must have cast a magic spell on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because it's another grand slam for the Harry Potter franchise. Demonstrating remarkable versatility after the arthouse success of Y Tu Mamá También, director Alfonso Cuarón proves a perfect choice to guide Harry, Hermione, and Ron into treacherous puberty as the now 13-year-old students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry face a new and daunting challenge: Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped from Azkaban prison, and for reasons yet unknown (unless, of course, you've read J.K. Rowling's book, considered by many to be the best in the series), he's after Harry in a bid for revenge. This dark and dangerous mystery drives the action while Harry (the fast-growing Daniel Radcliffe) and his third-year Hogwarts classmates discover the flying hippogriff Buckbeak (a marvelous CGI creature), the benevolent but enigmatic Professor Lupin (David Thewlis), horrifying black-robed Dementors, sneaky Peter Pettigrew (Timothy Spall), and the wonderful advantage of having a Time-Turner just when you need one. The familiar Hogwarts staff returns in fine form (including the delightful Michael Gambon, replacing the late Richard Harris as Dumbledore, and Emma Thompson as the goggle-eyed Sybil Trelawney), and even Julie Christie joins this prestigious production for a brief but welcome cameo. Technically dazzling, fast-paced, and chock-full of Rowling's boundless imagination (loyally adapted by ace screenwriter Steve Kloves), The Prisoner of Azkaban is a Potter-movie classic. --Jeff Shannon
